Concussion Policy and Testing

The Gunstock Ski Club has adopted the concussion policy provided by the USSA.

  1. Any athlete suspected of having sustained a concussion or traumatic brain injury will be immediately removed from training or competition.
  2. The athlete's parents will be notified, as will USSA.
  3. The athlete will be permitted to rejoin sporting activities ONLY AFTER getting cleared to do so by a qualified medical provider.

Baseline Testing

All athletes in the U14 age group, and older, are recommended to take the ImPACT baseline test. The test is free and is provided online by Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. You can access the test here. Follow the instructions on the screen when prompted for an access code enter: 37C99B8D2E
