Challenge #1: 10 Pushups Before Bed Each Night.

Be sure to maintain proper technique, with your eyes forward and your elbows at your side when performing this exercise. If standard pushups are easy, try putting your feet on the bed and hands on the floor! At the end of the week, try to see how many pushups you can do in 1 min. Be sure to tell me your number, and I will tell you mine. If you guess my number correctly, you will win a prize. Good luck!

Challenge #2: One 60 Second Wall Sit Each Night

Be sure to maintain proper technique, with your thighs parallel to the floor and your knees at 90 degrees. Your back, shoulder blades and head must be against the wall, and your arms must be across your chest like a mummy. If a standard wall sit is easy, try using one leg (just stick the other one straight out). At the end of the week, try to see how long you can hold your wall sit and be sure to let me know your best time. Let's see how many of you can beat Neil?!?

Challenge #3: 5 Minutes of Meditation

This is a HUGE challenge for me personally. Simply try lying down in a quiet place with your eyes closed and try to clear your mind of all thoughts. Just focus on your breathing. Take deep breaths - in through your nose and out through your mouth. After clearing your mind, think of three things you are thankful for and take one deep breath for each thought. When you open your eyes, you should feel re-energized.

The standard schedule is 8:30 for U12s with lunch at 11:30 and  returning to ski at 12:15-2:30 Saturdays and Sundays.  We also train most school vacation periods including Christmas and February vacations.  We meet in front of the club by the Tiger chair.  This is skis on, ready to go, all dressed up on-time.  We normally ski off this chair the first 2 runs.  We always return to the club at each session’s end.  PLEASE MAKE THE EFFORT TO HAVE YOUR ATHLETE HERE AND READY ON TIME.  It shows your encouragement and helps foster responsibility.  Also, be sure your athlete is well rested, well nourished and well dressed for the winter elements.  We train in just about all weather so be prepared.  In extreme conditions we take warm up breaks as needed, but not every run!

NOTE:  WEEKNIGHT TRAINING IS AVAILABLE FOR U12’s.  Night training can often include U18-U12's and the courses can be very challenging.  Friday afternoon is normally reserved for U14-U10 night training with age appropriate sets.  .

Does the training schedule change?  Yes, this happens often.  In order to access gate training we often start earlier, 7:00 on snow; or alter the lunch time; or occasionally ski later.  We will notify you in advance of this through the website and email.

FOR SAFETY PURPOSES:  If your athlete needs to leave training early let us know in person or provide a note with the details.  Also, a parent or responsible party must be available during training periods in case of emergency.

The coaches are on radios during training should you have an urgent need to contact an athlete.  This is not a message service please don't misuse.
